Mission Hills native Toma Wolff brings global access to the art world

home–helping clients build meaningful collections that transform how they live.

Toma Wolff has a way of making the art world feel both elevated and entirely approachable—something that feels right at home in Mission Hills, where she was born and raised.

Growing up, creativity wasn’t just encouraged—it was a way of life. Her father founded the Byron Cohen Gallery in the Crossroads Arts District, and her mother owned Panache Chocolatier on the Plaza.

“I was surrounded by art and chocolate,” Toma says with a smile. "It really shaped how I see the world."

That foundation carried into how she thinks about home today. For Toma, home has always been about more than just aesthetics—it’s about warmth, conversation, and personal expression. Those early influences now inform her work, helping clients create spaces that feel both refined and deeply personal.

Mission Hills has always remained her anchor. “There’s something special about simply driving through the neighborhood,” she says. “You see the care people put into their homes—the appreciation for architecture, craftsmanship, and design. It’s a place where beauty really matters.

Through her firm, Toma Wolff Fine Art Advisors, she helps clients source and place artwork from both emerging talents and internationally recognized artists. Her approach is highly

personal—guiding clients to discover what resonates with them while seamlessly managing everything from sourcing and negotiation to installation.

Toma’s path to this work has been anything but conventional. She began her career as a jeweler, developing a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and working directly with collectors. She later spent 18 years as Co-Director of her father’s gallery, building relationships across the contemporary art world.

That experience ultimately led her to launch her advisory, creating a more tailored and approachable way to connect clients with art. Partnering with Jana Pesek expanded that vision. Together, they bring a unique balance—Toma with her seasoned eye for art and artists, and Jana with her expertise in interiors and spatial design.

“We really bridge the gap between the art world and the home,” Toma explains. “It should feel effortless, not intimidating.”

That philosophy is what sets her business apart. With longstanding relationships across galleries and artists worldwide, Toma often sources significant works before they ever reach the public—and negotiates directly on behalf of her clients. But just as important, she makes the process feel clear and inviting.

“The art world can seem overwhelming, ” she says. “But it doesn’t have to be. We guide people so they can make confident, meaningful decisions.”

At the heart of her work is a simple but powerful belief: art transforms a home.

“Interior design creates a beautiful foundation, ” Toma says, “but art is what gives a space depth, distinction, and soul.

She also encourages clients to think of art not only as something to live with, but as something to invest in over time. Many begin with a single piece and gradually build collections that reflect their lives and experiences.

Toma spends much of her time visiting studios and working directly with artists and galleries

around the world—sometimes alongside her clients. Bringing that level of access back to

Kansas City is something she takes great pride in.

“It’s about living with art,” she says, “and supporting the artists behind it in a meaningful way.”
